"These things are great! It's like TV in your head!"

600 pages may seem like a lot of reading for a school book, but when the book is more like a movie it's a different story. The current book of Mr.Fitz 8th grade English class is somewhat of a "legend". We are reading The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. The book is about a boy by the name of, you guessed it, Tom Sawyer. The book follows him on many adventures such as escaping his aunt, descriptively washing a fence, and even going to church. But in all seriousness the book really is more like a movie in your head. The most famous scene is the fence scene where the writer describes a fence 9 feet tall and 13 yards long, though clearly in the picture the fence is not 9 feet nor is Tom 9 feet. I've only read 100 pages in but I truly hopes this book will be worth the read otherwise I'm going to be quite unhappy.
Tom is quite a quirk little boy, he isn't one person... no I mean Tom was based off of three people which is what makes him such a distinct and relateable person. He's smart but also lazy, he's a worker but gets people into doing his work, an most of all he's trustworthy but deceiving. Tom is one of the only book characters that I can both relate to and sometimes hate because of his actions. Tom is uneducated but knows the things to get him through life a happy person.

Tom Sawyer is the most unique book that I could of ever read, however the book isn't all that great to be honest. Some places are filled with nonsense while others are covered with old style language and description. Time for me to relate to him. Tom and I aren't so different we both hare work unless we're getting payed and even then we still don't like work. We are both quite deceptive I mean you never heard that, and lastly we both love to have an adventure though I you could say that about anyone.

Overall I like the book in a " wow that kid is just like me" way .

I loved how you opened with "600 pages might seem like a lot." Great writing.

Remember--any criticism is valid if it can be proved with factual support. In this case you need to write about "why" you don't like the book in the context of actual parts that are "bad" and why? (It's 600 pages in iBooks, but half that in paperback.

It certainly does seem like a lot, but you and I both know it's 600 pages of fantastic writing. It certainly has an element to it that no other book has. I loved reading this and you did a fantastic job!
