Adventure
"I bet theres been some pirates on this island before, boys. We'll explore it again. They've hid treasures here somewhere. How'd you feel to light on a rotten chest full of gold and silver - hey?"
Tom Sawyer Chp. XVI

Everybody loves a good adventure. In The Adventures of Tom Sawyer the main character Tom has many adventures with his friends Huckleberry Finn and Joe Harper. On an island in the Mississippi river Tom and his friends pretend to be pirates. They spend several days on the island searching for treasure and adventure. Tom is rejected by his girlfriend Becky Thatcher which is what drives him to go to the island. To invites Joe to come along.  Joe and Tom go and try to find Huckleberry Finn, and later go off to the island where they stay a few days. During their stay Tom, Joe, and Huck act like pirates, search for food, and pretend to sword fight with sticks. They also go swimming for fun and tell stories about pirates before they go to sleep.
“Tom recounted (and adorned) his adventures. They were a vain and boastful company of heroes when the tale was done. Then Tom hid himself away in a shady nook to sleep till noon, and the other pirates got ready to fish and explore.”

Excerpt From: Twain, Mark. “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer.”
Adventure is a very big part of the book because it's in the title, but also because Tom and his friends are people who don't like to follow rules. Tom goes on adventures as his form of escape. He uses his imagination to have fun, and to get away from problems he faces. He enjoys adventuring with his friends because they're the only people who can really go to the same place he does. Adventures are what keep the book interesting because the adventure can be whatever Tom thinks of.

Good job. I will help you in class to format this a bit better, but you do a good job of following the rubric.

I think you followed the rubric very well. Try to come up with an interesting title though. Remember to insert Twain's name in the tricolon after the block quote. Good job.

Great entry! The only thing I would do is to expand a little in the head and heart, You could add the tricolen sentance to add more to the head and heart, other than that, great entry keep up the good work!
