Hong Kong used to be "that island off the coast of China" but in 1513 the British sailed down and found that island. Fast forward 200 years of absolutely nothing and Britain finds the island cultivated with tea which the British wanted, and Opium, Which they were addicted to... no they were literally addicted to Opium. Opium is a drug. They realized that China wanted Hong Kong to be left alone and so they did until the Opium War.
After the British had won the war they signed a "lease" that allowed them 99 years to own and govern Hong Kong. So 99 years have passed and now Hong Kong shows clear signs of being raised by the brits what with the business, rail system, and the way they talk it's really like the little sister of Britain.
Now in 2014 the island city has many wonders such as it's airport being on a lone island, a bright night being lit with the neon signs of closed businesses, and the sound of cars designed for racing in the streets. Nothing could replicate this scenery and liveliness of the night. The street vendors sell you restaurant grade food that they made. "diners" where all you need to do is take a seat, whether it be alone or with a complete stranger is your choice. Hobby stores selling anything you might need to finish off that 2 foot tall Gundam figure. Only problem is that almost all the stuff there is of poor quality.
So that's what I know about the island city, and I hope you enjoyed!
