My brother wasn't always a great person. He wasn't always the nicest, most honest, or generous but he was protective and that's all that matters. Since I was a kid almost every day after school he would checkup on me to see if anything was wrong. If any time I said that something had happened he would always tell me "Don't let people tell you how to act". I never really paid attention to what he was telling me until my cousin started getting extremely bossy and so enough I had finally said "Can you quit telling me what to do". Yes those words may of split the family in half, but that had been one of the most life changing thing that happened and all thanks to my brother (that's a good thing). Now I'm in my brothers place and he will side with me because he doesn't want me to end up being a sad person. My brother will be there to help me because he was in my place once, and because he knows his actions changed the family in a good way.
My brother and I never really spent much time together and I don't really know why, but I think that instead of that being a bad thing I think it just stopped us from starting any problems. He normally goes out with his friends and studies while I stay at home and play games, but he's still good to me and I'm good to him. He still gives me advice based off the mistakes he's made and is trying to lead me in the right direction. Away from a poor lifestyle and into a successful life. Now he goes to college and the house is more empty than usual. I hope to one day be able to take his his advice and pass it on to others.
